Scholarships listed in this section are given through the University of La Verne.  For non-university scholarships, go to the “External Scholarships” section of this page.

La Verne Law has many scholarships—made possible by our generous alumni and friends that are available to 2L, 3L, and 4L students. Some require an application, which can be accessed here; preference will be given to students who submit an application. The deadline to submit an application for the 2020-2021 academic year is Monday, November 16, 2020.  If you have any questions, please direct them to lawscholarships@laverne.edu.

If you are interested in being considered for one or more scholarships, we encourage you to apply. Only one application form is necessary; to the extent, you wish to be considered for multiple scholarships, be sure to include information that addresses specific requirements of individual scholarships.

  • The applicant must have the ability to successfully complete the Program of legal education.
  • The scholarship should be awarded as an entitlement fund and not replace institutional funds, for College of Law students selected by the Egly Scholarship Committee and confirmed by the Office of Financial Aid.
  • When a scholarship recipient is identified, the name of the recipient and the award amount will be sent by the Egly Scholarship Committee to the Office of Financial Aid for verification and awarding of the scholarship.

Will & Will Will & Will is a husband/wife criminal defense law firm serving clients in Seattle and surrounding cities. Court & Michelle are caring and dedicated advocates who work tirelessly to ensure their clients are receiving the best possible outcome. Heshmat Mirsepassi Endowed Scholarship for Muslim Students The faces of elementary school children Heshmat Mirsepassi taught in her native Iran lingered in her mind for decades. Many of those children came to school with just a crust of bread to eat for an entire day. One day, she vowed, she would have enough money to help them.

Requirements

  • Be a current or incoming student at the University of La Verne
  • Have a minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Demonstrate financial need
  • Submit a letter of recommendation from your Imam or local Muslim leader
  • Participate in the Muslim Student Association while at the University of La Verne

Glotzer & Leib’s Scholarship Fund We’re proud to support recipients by helping them cover college-related expenses. The winner(s) will receive a check for $1000. We will be offering this scholarship bi-annually.

ELIGIBILITY

This scholarship is open to any student currently enrolled in an accredited college or university in the United States. This includes students that have been accepted and have committed to attend a specific college or university next semester.

DEADLINE

Your complete application must be received using the form below by September 15 and January 15 of each year.

Team Law Working Moms Scholarship

 

The scholarship will provide students with $1,500 to go toward the costs of tuition or any other related expenses at a college or university of their choice, anywhere in the United States. An additional $1,500 will be donated to the Dress for Success Foundation, “an international not-for-profit organization that empowers women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and the developmental tools to help women thrive in work and in life.”

In order to be awarded this scholarship, you must be a working mother or a mother looking to return to the workforce and be a current undergraduate or graduate student with a 2.0 GPA, or entering a vocational or technical school. To apply, students should fill out the form at the link, and submit a copy of their transcript, a 500 word (or less) essay on why they should be selected, 1 letter of recommendation and proof of enrollment to janie@nextlevel.com.

THE MAY FIRM BI-ANNUAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND The May Firm, we understand the importance of an education and just how difficult it can be to finance college these days. Robert May, our founding attorney here at The May Firm, was the first in his family to attend college! He’s incredibly appreciative of the opportunity he had to attend Cal Poly San Luis Obispo for his undergraduate degree, then moving on to law school. As we all know, the cost of obtaining a higher education keeps rising, which can often times put students in a tough situation, both mentally and financially.

Emery Reddy Legal Studies Scholarship – $2,500 Emery Reddy, PLLC is proud to announce its Fourth annual round of scholarships. Each year we partner with undergraduate and graduate programs around the country to offer financial assistance to students with an interest in pursuing careers in the legal field, and we would like to make this opportunity known to your students.  May we have this listed on La Verne Law’s External Scholarships page?

BerlikLaw Future Virginia Lawyer Scholarship One scholarship of $1,500 for any current law student at an accredited law school within the United States is eligible for the Future Virginia Lawyer Scholarship, but preference is given to individuals who (a) are from Virginia, (b) received their undergraduate degrees from a Virginia college or university, and/or (c) attend law school in Virginia.

The Johns Law Firm Law School Scholarship Essay Contest
At Johns Law Firm, our personal injury lawyers specialize in representing victims of accidents, injuries, and even insurance companies disputes. As attorneys, we feel that it is our responsibility to advocate for those who have been injured in accidents that were not their fault. In fact, helping those in need is one of the reasons our law firm exists.

For this year’s scholarship contest, we are asking students to submit an essay about why they decided to become a lawyer.

One Lawyer Can Change the World Scholarship In the right hands, a law degree can be a powerful tool. History is filled with great accounts of leaders who made it their life’s work to embody the law and serve as agents of change.

Each year we honor 10 future change agents who are heading to law school. All ten finalists will be rewarded with scholarships to help pay for the first year of law school.

RONALD HEDDING LAW FIRM $2,500 STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP Hedding Law Firm, a Los Angeles and San Fernando Valley, CA criminal defense law firm is offering an annual $2,500 scholarship for students who are currently attending or enrolled in college or graduate school. The sky-rocketing costs of education and student loan debt are a major deterrent for many students who want to seek a higher education. It is our goal to help students with limited financial means to obtain a quality education to improve their chances of brighter future. This year, one $3,000 scholarship and one $2,000 scholarship will be awarded to two law students, and the recipient will be honored at IALA’s annual December Supreme Court night (by Zoom this year, of course)

2020 BOYK LAW VETERAN SCHOLARSHIP

 

The Boyk Law Veteran Scholarship is $2,000 and will be awarded to a student who is currently attending an accredited college or university, who has either served in the Armed Forces or is the child of a US Veteran.

Answering Legal Law Scholarship Answering Legal’s Future Attorneys of America Scholarship is dedicated in choosing one law student, of academic excellence, every year and awarding them with the FAAS merit scholarship.
We consider it a great honor to be able to support law students who show ambition, perseverance, and of course, merit in their studies, in the legal community and in their lives.
Scholarship Criteria
Answering Legal’s Future Attorneys of America Scholarship of $5000 is open to dedicated law students who meet the following criteria:
Applicants must be currently enrolled at an accredited law school. This means you can be accepted to a law school as an incoming 1L. Alongside other documents, provide proof of matriculation.
Applicants must have a minimum 3.5 GPA.
Applicants must submit an unofficial copy of their transcript. If you are a rising 1L, please provide your undergraduate transcript.

To empower and encourage future attorneys in their pursuit of similar goals, we have chosen to begin the Arnold & Itkin LLP Academic Scholarship. Our firm will award $5,000 to two current law students who share our passion for assisting the underprivileged and the victims of tragedy. Regardless of the area of law, the scholarship recipients should be focused on utilizing the legal system to support those less fortunate. All applicants should demonstrate both past and current dedication to victim advocacy and/or community service.

The Insurance Guide Local College Scholarship We look forward to receiving many submissions for the 2021 scholarship and encourage students to apply according to the information listed below. Each year, the team at Insurance Guide Local offers a $500 scholarship to students pursuing their post-secondary education at a college or trade school. We believe by encouraging students to advance their education beyond high school we can improve communities as these individuals enter the workforce, better educated and better prepared to give back to their own local communities.IGL Scholarship Eligibility Requirements:

  1. Applicants must be US Citizens.
  2. Applicants must provide proof of current enrollment or acceptance at an accredited college or trade school.
  3. Applicants already attending college must be able to show that they are maintaining a 3.0 GPA or higher.
  4. Applicants who have not yet started their first college semester, must have achieved a cumulative high school GPA of 3.0 or higher and provide documentation of such.
  5. Essay submissions must be received no later than Midnight, Pacific Time, May 15th, each year.

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen.
Applicant must be currently attending or accepted to an accredited college, university, or trade school.
If currently a post-secondary institution, applicant must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
If currently in high school and have been accepted to a post-secondary institution, applicant must have a cumulative high school GPA of 3.0 or higher.
