Public Interest Law Foundation Auction

The La Verne Law Public Interest Law Foundation Fifth Annual Silent Auction fundraiser will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at the University of La Verne College of Law in rooms 206 and 217.   The event starts at 12:30 p.m. and runs until 2:30 p.m.  (Please note the ending time has changed.) We welcome your attendance as we take on the task of raising funds for 2014 Summer Grants to qualifying La Verne Law students who have taken public interest or government externships.  Tickets are now free, leaving you more money to bid on auction items and to purchase lucky raffle tickets.  Please do RSVP though at or by visiting the PILF table that will be hosted in the Frank J. Mistretta Family Foyer on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, April 1 through April 4 from noon to 1 p.m.  or by stopping by my office.  The agenda for the day includes lunch from 12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m., with the raffle and silent auction ending at 1:30 p.m., auction winners announced at approximately 1:45 p.m., and PILF grant recipients announced at approximately 2 p.m. by Dean Holmes and Professor Uchimiya.   A magic show will be provided throughout the program by Daniel Escalante, Stephanie Stovall’s son.   Here is a list of some of the auction and raffle items that have been donated so far:

  • 90 minute Yoga Lesson for up to four people valued at $100 with Professor Klein
  • Five free admission passes to Magical Playground donated by Elizabeth Yang
  • $150 Gift Certificate to the LA Philharmonic/Hollywood Bowl donated by Professor Rudolf
  • One dozen homemade cupcakes (with vegan and gluten free selections) from Professor Klein
  • Two reserved parking spaces for Fall 2014 in the La Verne Law parking lot with parking permit included
  • Two reserved parking spaces for Spring 2015 in the La Verne Law parking lots with parking permit included
  • Hockey stick signed by Dean Holmes

How to Donate

PILF would also like to invite you to join the many other members of our community who have made donations to our Silent Auction fundraiser.  If you would like to make a donation for the silent auction please complete the attached gift-in-kind form and return it to Heather Startsman or me. In previous years professors, staff, alumni, and students have donated items such as gift certificates or gift cards to various locations or gift baskets. We also welcome monetary donations which can be made through the Eventbrite webpage at
