Help the College of Law and have a great day of golfing at the University of La Verne’s annual tournament on Monday, August 31. This year’s event is at the Hacienda Golf Club in La Habra Heights, a course that our resident golf expert, Dean Gilbert Holmes, ranks as one of his favorites in California.
Not only will all participants enjoy a great 18 holes of golf, dining and lots of fun extras, but sponsors at the $5000 and higher level will get an exclusive golf clinic with Amy Alcott, member of the LPGA and World Golf Halls of Fame.
What’s more, the University of La Verne Golf Tournament is structured so that supporters can direct their charitable contributions to the college or athletic program of their choice – including La Verne Law.
“At most universities, the net proceeds from the University Golf Tournament go into a general coffer, and the individual schools may or may not benefit from it,” explained Dean Holmes. “Because the University of La Verne has a different approach, the supporters of each College can support the University and their desired school. Being extremely competitive, I would really like to see the College of Law bring in more money than any other unit, even though we are the smallest college at the University. We came in second last year in dollars raised at the tournament, and I know we can take the top spot this time.”
