The University of La Verne College of Law will host the Association for Gender Research, Education, Academia & Action’s “Trans*Studies Conference 2012” March 2-4 at the law school.
The conference, co-organized by La Verne Law Professor Diane Klein, will examine and explore trans-spectrum studies and activism of all kinds, including the issues of identity, class, health, citizenship and rights. A “track” theme will address the area of trans law, with Continuing Legal Education credit available to attorneys.

The Faculty Scholarship Series continues to bring in leading experts to speak on various academic topics.
Past presentations include insightful lectures by: UC Irvine Law School Dean Erwin Chemerinsky; David Fagundes of Southwestern School of Law; Daniel Lowenstein of UCLA; and Audrey Latorette of Stockton College.
- On March 21, Mark Golub of Scripps College will present: Legal Fictions about Racial Facts: Albion Winegar Tougee and the Rhetorical Oroigins of Color-Blind Constitutionalism.
- On April 18, Rigel Oliveri of the University of Missouri will also speak.
La Verne Law’s Public Interest Law Foundation Chapter will host its third-annual Silent Auction Fundraiser from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, March 23, at the Ludwick Conference Center on the third floor of the University of La Verne’s Campus Center. Tickets are $15 in advance or $25 at the door. Proceeds will be used for summer grants to La Verne Law students who volunteer their time with public interest organizations.

La Verne Law is pleased to announce its fourth annual Don Dunn Memorial Golf Tournament with a shotgun start at noon on Friday, March 30, a court holiday.
Join us for a great day of golf at the Sierra Lakes Golf Club, 16600 Clubhouse Drive in Fontana. Cost is $100 per player and includes a four-person scramble, box lunch, awards reception and cocktail hour following the tournament.
