Are You Looking for a New Job?

The Student Affairs & Career Services Office is here to help you!

Do you need to update your resume or cover letter and have it reviewed? Alumni are welcome to email or drop off their resumes and cover letters to the SACSO for review and suggestions. Simply email them to August Farnsworth, the Assistant Dean of Student Affairs & Career Services at afarnsworth@laverne.edu. Within one to two business days, resumes and cover letters will be ready for pickup in the “Resume Out Box” or we can scan and email them back to you. For the convenience of alumni, we can provide telephone counseling as well, saving you a trip to campus. Alumni may submit materials as often as necessary for review.

Are you looking for a new job and need to see what is available? Then check out Symplicity, a web-based program which streamlines and simplifies the job search process for law students, alumni and employers.

La Verne Law alumni can create an online profile and attach their resume, writing samples, and transcripts for employers to search. Employers have the opportunity to post job opportunities at no cost. To request your username, password, and the website link or to receive assistance navigating the Symplicity website, please contact Heather Startsman in the SACSO at 909-460-2017 or hstartsman@laverne.edu.

La Verne Law Invites Alumni to Participate in Career Fair

We are very pleased to invite our alumni and representatives from their organizations to participate in the University of La Verne College of Law’s annual Career Fair and Reception from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., Wednesday, April 10 at the law school campus in Ontario. The purpose of the event is for Southern California employers to be introduced to La Verne Law, its students, graduates, faculty and administration.

The event will kick off with a dinner hosted by our faculty and administration at 5:30 p.m.   Beginning at 6 p.m., our students and most recent graduates will arrive and you will have an opportunity to meet with them. If you have a current job opening, this is an ideal time to meet with some great candidates. However, please note the Career Fair and Reception is also an open house event, so even if you do not currently have an opening you are definitely welcome to come and participate. The event is free and participating employers will receive a complimentary La Verne Law Resume Book.
